Many people have tried to explain this but few did it so well as Eckhart Tolle, I'm sorry I waited so long to read this book just because it was so popular

Top takeaways from reading the book: - Page 18: Try to give a routine activity, for example brushing your teeth, your full attention. Pay attention to how you move your hands and how you breathe. To measure how well you do this, use the criterion "the degree to which you feel peace in yourself." - Page 22: For the ego in us, only past and future are important. The present hardly exists. - Page 44: When you are defending yourself, ask yourself what you are defending. - Page 67: Give more attentio
This book opened my eyes! Eckhard Tolle is just so right with every sentence in this book
This book opened my eyes! Eckhard Tolle is just so right with every sentence in this book. We live way too much in our heads instead of enjoying our surroundings by just simply watching, listening, touching, smelling etc. Everything is just in front of us. Just now! We just need to stop thinking and open our eyes and focus on the now and what's in front of our eyes!

This is a book which was very often recommended to me - as I was interested in subjects like mindfulness, inner peace etc. So I started my reading journey through ten chapters on roughly 190 pages. Layout and language are simple, but sufficient, a note section is completely missing, although there are several citations throughout the book. What I found positive is the way the author tried to initiate a kind of dialogue with the reader by including questions which might arise during the lecture.

I bought this book because I wanted to have more information on how to stop incessant thinking, and I could apply this fairly quickly after reading the first chapter. I also had found a particular meditation online that helped me achieve mental stillness, and I had also experienced mental stillness before . Other than that, I really am a person that is way too much in their head, and always thinking of the past or the future. I do this now far
I have mixed feelings about this book
I have mixed feelings about this book. I felt like it repeats itself pretty often, but in an interesting and non boring way. I also cannot say that this book has improved me, since i have stopped using the methods after 1 weeks of finishing the book.
An amazing book with powerful insights into living in the present moment
An amazing book with powerful insights into living in the present moment. Great balance between theory and practice with very concrete examples that transform your life. It led to a breakthrough for me, dis-identifying from pain, shame and other ‘negative’ feelings that kept me in a state of remorse and back from achieving my highest potential for many years.
So, this book seems so logic and mostly everything you read makes immediately sense
So, this book seems so logic and mostly everything you read makes immediately sense. However! Putting it into your daily life and try to live it that's the hard part and I have certainly a long way ahead of myself. It doesn't enlight you BUT gives the simple truth on how we as humans mostly work That our mind is a beautiful and yet somehow "destroying" tool, which is basically just afraid of the moment, or the next one more likely. I already ordered the practising book of the power of now, becau
